Crazy Days Returns to Downtown Ponca City August 7 and 8

Crazy Days will return to downtown Ponca City during Oklahoma's sales-tax holiday weekend. The event will coincide with downtown shopping promotions and the Down by Downtown concert series.

Crazy Days will return to downtown Ponca City on Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8, bringing merchant promotions, giveaways and children’s lemonade stands to the downtown district.

The annual retail event coincides with Oklahoma’s sales-tax holiday and the Ponca City Arts and Humanities Council’s Down by Downtown concert series.

Qualifying clothing and footwear priced below $100 per item can be purchased without state, city, county or local sales tax during the holiday weekend. Certain products and purchases remain excluded from the exemption.

Downtown Dollars promotion

Ponca City Main Street is offering a limited Downtown Dollars promotion in connection with Crazy Days.

Customers who purchase $100 in Downtown Dollars gift cards will receive an additional $50, providing $150 in spending value for $100. The promotion is limited to one purchase per customer and will remain available through August 8 or until the promotional supply is exhausted.

Downtown Dollars can be used at participating downtown businesses.

Shop-and-win giveaway

Purchases made at downtown businesses on August 7 or August 8 may also be entered into a receipt giveaway.

Shoppers must email each qualifying receipt separately to Ponca City Main Street. Each separately submitted receipt will count as one entry.

Three winners are scheduled to receive Downtown Dollars gift cards:

- First prize: $200

- Second prize: $100

- Third prize: $50

Tote bags and lemonade stands

Participating merchants will each receive 10 limited-edition Crazy Days tote bags to distribute. Contents will vary by business and may include merchandise, coupons, discounts, gift certificates or other promotional items.

The Ponca City Trailblazers Rotary Club will also host children’s lemonade stands throughout the downtown area. Printed and digital maps are expected to help visitors locate participating stands.

More than two dozen downtown merchants have been listed as participants, including restaurants, boutiques, gift shops, entertainment venues and other locally operated businesses.

Individual businesses may maintain their own hours and promotions. Visitors should check directly with participating merchants for specific schedules and offer details.
